Crispy Kale Chips

This is one of my all-time favorite snacks. In my house we use real salt and garlic power liberally- yum! You will find the dehydrator method produces consistently crunchy chips without the risk of burning, however the oven method works just fine for those without a dehydrator.


1 bunch kale (any kind)

2T butter, melted

Spices to taste: salt, pepper, (optional: garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne)

With a knife or kitchen shears remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with butter and sprinkle with seasonings.
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F. Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.
OR Place in dehydrator for 4-6 hours. (this is the best method)
